This is Rioki, the family cat. He is 5 years old and has been living with my sister Naida for the last years, but he is the adoration of mom and me too. My sister Letty and the husband don't like animals and much less cats. They don't know what are they missing!
Anyway, he has been 5 years with us. He adopted us when he was 3 months old. It was a rainy day and was the day that we were signing the papers for a house we bought in Rome, GA. We went back to the house to get some papers and he was waiting at the porch. When the door was openend he entered like the house was his. I gave him some milk and put him outside. I never had a pet and I was not sure how I was going to react with a cat, having asthma and so many allergies. So we went back to the realtor and signed the papers. When we return home the cat was still there and when the door was open he again enter. He sniff every corner and then went to take a nap in a corner. We discussed about keeping him and we won (me and my sister Naida, against mom and dad). So Naida named him Rioki, after a cat-like character in an anime serie that Naida loves. I got him a cardboard box and left him in the kitchen until we could take him to the vet. I think the rest is pretty much history.
Rioki have been traveling with my sister Naida and now that she had the severe asthma attack the doctor told her to get rid of the cats (she had 2 more). Immediately I told her not to get rid of Rioki! He's like a son to us! So last week I sent her some money to pay for the vet check-up and the ticket to travel here to Puerto Rico with my sister. They're both living here for now. I think my sister Naida will live permanently now in Puerto Rico.
Rioki is adapting really good to the house here in PR. He spends the day seating in front of the screen door that looks to the balcony or in the back screen door that looks to the patio. At night he sleeps with Naida but tonight he's taking a nap right now in my bed. :-)
He's a really good cat. In fact he doesn't play with my shuttles or threads! A very good thing in here because if he does something like playing with my shuttles or threads I'll "hang" him! Nah, just kidding. I love him dearly!
