Blog EntryMotif 16 - 3-D DaisyMar 25, '08 7:34 PM
for everyone

A few weeks ago someone post in a blog (Blogger site) this pattern that she found but didn't dare to make because it looks very complicated.  Today I was looking something to make and remember the pattern, which I saved.

The pattern is really simple.  The only "tricky" part is the last round because is a little ackward the joining of the chains to make the overlay petal.  The original pattern has 1 ring only, the one in the center.  The rest of the motif is worked on chains.  I changed it a little and instead of making the "petals" as chains I made them as rings.  Also I made like 3 rounds less because the threads on the shuttles where finishing.

I used Altin Basak #10 in white and pink and measures like 3 inches.

Here is the pattern if you want to give it a try.  Click on it so see it bigger.

First I have to say that I love your theme better now that the dark sides are gone, or was that something that just happened incorrectly the first time I looked at it? Second, I just love the 3-D daisy. What you said about changing the chain to be a ring instead leaves me to wonder if it wasn't actually harder that way? Maybe not harder, but maybe a bit difficult to handle.

PS This picture of the daisy looks a lot prettier here than the one in the posting.

Hi Barbara! The black sides on the theme before was a mistake on the code. I spent all day trying to find the mistake until a girl from a theme group helped me finding the mistake.

Now about the rings and chains... Because I used 2 colors, the rings was easier to make, at least for me. I'm making another one now and I'll try to make it with the chains. The pattern is addictive!!! Already mom asked for several to sew on a T-shirt.

After I posted the original one I scanned it and changed. :-)

I think putting the motif on a sweat shirt is a great idea, better than just putting it/them in a box. Ah, now I see, what with the two colors it would be better.
