Yesterday was a great day! Aileen Chia and I spent a lovely lunch time together. Talking about tatting, visited places, food and family. We joke as we were friends for a very long time. Her BF was not very interested in Tatting so he spent the time playing Nintendo DS, just talking occasionally about places here in PR because he's Puerto Rican.
I got with me some of my shuttles for her to see and a box of finished projects. Also got her some presents (threads, sequins & a tatted doily) and she got me a Chinese Tatting book. The one from where she tatted the doily she sent me. So pretty! We talked until our throats were dry and then we had lunch of a nice hot potato with stuffs. Yumm! Then before going her BF show us where he found a little kiosk with bobbin lace and tatting supplies! I never saw that small kiosk before. They are even giving classes!!! Later I'll return to get some threads. It's not a huge selection but they have some DMC colors that I haven't seen in other shops. Also they have DMC Traditions that is a #10 thread but it's very soft and nice to tat with. After gazing the threads and bobbin lace projects we said our good byes and hugged, not before exchanging numbers and addresses.
Mom got something small (rice cakes! lol) and then we went to "window shopping" for awhile. In total we spent 6 hrs at the mall!!! Thanks God I was using my walker and sit down often to rest. When we arrived home it was almost 8 pm, I was having a "nice" headache and just took the headache pills and tat for awhile until I fall asleep. Today everything aches but it's because of the long walk yesterday. Mom wants to make this every week now that the Summer vacations are coming!
Aileen is returning to Singapore on Monday, so it was a great day that we could meet in person and share so much!
Sounds like you had a really good time. The present exchange sounded quite interesting also. You need to do something like this, it's good for you and you deserve it.
How totally cool that you got to spend part of the day with another tatter from another country...so COOL!!! Now, is this the same Aileen from the "Aileen's Wicked Tat's" blogger or am I totally off on that? You got a new look to your blog here, too. I like. THe other one was pretty, too, but for some reason my computer would freak out on it. This one, my computer likes for some reason...LOL Have a great rest of your weekend
So glad to see you're better and get to enjoy a great time with your friend, Wally! That was fantastic! Wish I could be there myself! Sigh.... maybe one day, insyaallah! Hugssssss!!
