for everyone

I'm starting again my treatments so yesterday I went to a new psichiatric...  The office is right in front of my high school in Carolina.

As soon as I saw the school I just remember how many good times I spent there.  The high school front have 2 humongus trees so the school front is not very visible...

Anyway.  The name of the school is of the founder of the Independentist Political Party of PR.  He also was a great educator and was from Carolina.  When the school was going to be name (it was around 1986) I remember that all the students and specially the Seniors went into a strike.  Even the newscasters of Channel 4 and 2 (the most famous channels in PR) were there to film the student strike.  The strike was because student didn't like that the school was going to be named by the force, without giving the chance to the student body to have an opinion about it.  It was also believed that the principal Calero choose the name because she's the sister of an Independentist Senator (Calero Juarbe) and at that time he was very controversial.

I was a Freshman (or should I say Freshgirl?  Image ) and I didn't care a lot about the strike.  All I remember clearly was that after we were forced to enter the school, the principal who knew me (I have been "famous" since elementary school) start poking my belly and saying "I saw you chanting on the strike".  It was more like a joke, but I remember it because I thought "Hey, you're going to make another belly button on me".  That's so silly...  But it's what I remember of that strike that last only 1 day.

Also part of the "fame" I had was because I have been always an honor student.  In the 3 years of High School I participate on the Spanish Language Week with some stories and poems and always won 1st Place.  Also in the Reading Marathon won prizes and my sister Letty and I won prizes to Regional Level in the Scientific Fair.

Teachers and everybody thought that we (Letty and me) were going to study to be something big and famous...  But we opted for professions that are more on the "helping others" side with no fame...  I became an Oncology Nurse and my sister Letty a History Teacher.  Now she's the Librarian of the Pentecostal Bible College of PR.

Hmmm...  I think I'll blog a little about each member of my family.  I have noting else to do today.  It's really hot and humid and I can't tat.  So later I'll be bloging about my family...

See ya!
