for everyone

Here is the finished snowflake.  I finished it while I was in church with mom and sis.  Well, not during the service, but waiting for mom and sis to finish talking and drive to eat out.

There was a Moderator from the General Assambly (Presbyterian) visiting PR and he was staying with Letty and the husband.  He's (my BIL) a minister of the Presbyterian Church in Guaynabo, PR.  So after the service we went to Cayey to a famous area known better as "La Ruta del Lechon" (The Pork's Route) to take the visitor to eat a Puerto Rican dinner.  There are dozens of little restaurant where the specialty is the roasted pork, a traditional plate here in PR.  It's kinda similar to the Hawaiian Lau.  But the one here is made in a pole over the open flame and roasted until it's cooked inside and the skin is crispy.  I didn't eat a lot of meat, I stoped eating pork a couple of years ago.  But anyway I eat the "Yellow" rice with the Pigeon Peas; green boiled bananas, yucca, roasted sweet potatoes, lilac "yautia" and sweet yellow platain.  To drink a couple of glasses of "Acerola" juice.  Oh my!  This is a typical Sunday meal.  There was a live band playing some Merengue and Salsa and a few people were dancing.  I forgot my camera today.  Image  So I couldn't take a picture.  But if my sister transfer the one she took I'll post it here.

Anyway....  (Geesh I always deviate from the theme)  The snowflake was a pretty cool pattern to do.  And I'm in love with this thread.  The thread I used definitively is the "Silco" that is a cotton but works like silk.  The varigated color is pretty too.  I think I'll be ordering some more beofre I return to Egypt.  This thread is a little expensive but the resutl is great!  I greatly recommend this thread for any of us that love to wrok with finer threads.  The size is similar to a DMC #80 or a cordonette #100.  I still have some leftover so I'll be making something else.  Probably will be sufficient for a big butterfly if I combine it with other thread.  I got some Hand Quilting Gutterman in black that would work very well with this color.  Let see what I invent later.
