I finished this doily like an hour ago, while watching The Matrix and Holes. I can't stand doing nothing while watching tv or something like that. So I tat and tat.
This small doily measures like 6 inches and I used Star #30 in White. But it's a vintage thread so it looks cream (more of an off-white). Anyway it's a good thread to work with. The result is a crisp doily that will not need any stiffner. I need to iron it and will go to the living room table, which I call the "Honor Table". Mom likes to exhibit anything that is really pretty in that table, so every new doily goes there!
The pattern is from Karey Solomon's "Tatting Time", Vol. 14 Issue 2. "Tatting Times" is a newsletter published 4 times per year and it's packed with really nice patterns. Some are original from Karey, other are adaptations of antique patterns. It's a very good newsletter!
I already started another small doily also from "Tatting Times". This time using the same cream but combined with cotton perle #8 in Navy Blue.
